The Office of Human Resources serves as the first point of contact for prospective Botetourt County employees. We are responsible for coordinating the hiring process for all departments and offices that fall under the Botetourt County Board of Supervisors.

Botetourt County is accepting applications to fill a part-time Secretary position in the Recreation and Facilities Depart­ment. Ability to interact with the public in person and over the phone.  Responsible for processing department bills and invoices. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with other co-workers, County departments and the public.  Ability to follow oral and written directions. The position is new to the Department of Economic Development and will be involved in developing economic development efforts under the direct supervision of the Director of Economic Development.  The position will have lead responsibility in managing the County’s economic development marketing initiatives and small business development activities, with an emphasis on assisting Botetourt small businesses and entrepreneurs with capital formation.  Required qualifications include four (4) years related experience, and successful completion of at least the Basic Economic Development Course and additional International Economic Development Council certification coursework.  Preferred knowledge of commercial & industrial property development, small business development, marketing, economic development and grants administration.

The Department of Parks and Recreation is continually looking for dedicated volunteers to support its various programs and activities. The County utilizes volunteers to support parks and playing fields, coach youth sports teams, and promote its many programs. Additionally, the County works collectively with seven booster clubs in the area made up entirely of volunteers, which support and organize local youth sports leagues.
