Public Access Areas in Greenfield
April 14, 2016
Fincastle, VA – Due to the ongoing construction activities, including regular blasting, related to the ELDOR Corporation facility in the Botetourt Center at Greenfield, public access in Greenfield will be limited for safety concerns. International Parkway is closed past the entrance to the Lawrence Companies, and no public access, including vehicular, pedestrian and bicycle, will be permitted beyond that point. In addition, the Colonel William Preston Trail, which runs through the northern section of Greenfield, will be closed. All closures are expected to remain in effect through the summer of 2017.
At this time, there are no planned closures of the Cherry Blossom Trail, the Historic Preservation Area, or the two public parking lots on the north side of International Parkway. Visitor access will be restricted to the parking areas and designated trails. County officials urge all people visiting and working in Greenfield to exercise caution due to construction traffic.
