County Administrator Declares Local State of Emergency


WHEREAS, I Gary Larrowe, the Director of Emergency Management of Botetourt County, have hereby found:
That based on predictions from the National Weather Service, the potential exists for a recording setting snowfall event that has high potential for significant impacts to Botetourt County.
That due to the projected snowfall amounts and potential for winds associated with the storm may cause widespread transportation concerns, power outages, and other snow and cold related emergency, that necessitate the proclamation of the existence of a local emergency.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY PROCLAIMED that an emergency does now exist throughout said Jurisdiction; and
IT IS FURTHER PROCLAIMED AND ORDERED that during the existence of said emergency, the powers, functions, and duties of the Emergency Management Organization of Botetourt County shall be those prescribed by State Law and the Ordinances, Resolutions, and approved plans of this Jurisdiction in order to mitigate the effects of said emergency.
